How do I cite a TV commercial?

Answer

Start with the section titled "Audiovisual Media" in Chapter 10 of the APA Manual. Although the Manual does not directly discuss citing commercials, it provides this template for audiovisual media that stands alone: Author or Creator of the Product. (Date). Title of work. [Television Commercial]. URL or Source.

If you viewed the commercial on TV, there won't be a URL. Instead, include the city in which it was broadcast and the network that showed it. Baker College Academic Resource Center. (2021, March 10). How do I cite a commercial? https://askus.baker.edu/faq/217527

Example:  Chevrolet. (n.d.). Maddie. [Television commercial]. New York: NBC.
