Should I use the copyright date from a webpage or website footer in a reference citation?

Answer

Do not use the copyright date from a webpage or website footer. If the statement "last updated" appears on a page, use that date if it applies to the information cited. If there is no separate date of publication on a webpage, treat the information as having no date (American Psychological Association [APA], 2020, p. 289).
